The first window of the Egdon Community Grant closed on the 31st of December 2022. The committee was thrilled to get 12 applications in this window amounting to £42,029.60.
With only £30,000 available in this window the committee were faced with some difficult decisions, but thanks to a top-up to the window of £5,529.60 from Egdon, the committee where able to award 10 organisations in this round, with the remaining two applications encouraged to apply again in the second window, with some additional information required.
We are pleased to reveal that in the first window, the following organisations were awarded.
- Team BR (Broughton Runners)
- Broughton Guides
- Brigg & District Rangers
- Broughton Town Council
- BCSA (This award was approved by Egdon due to the conflict of interest)
- Broughton Cricket Club
- Broughton Primary School
- Broughton Ravers JFC
- Broughton Dramatic Society
- Purple Pineapple Theatre Academy (A new group that was awarded start-up funding)
BCSA was joined by an Egdon representative to ensure all grants were considered fairly, and members with a conflict of interest were not permitted to vote.
We will leave it to the individual societies to announce the new projects/equipment that they will be launching as a result of this funding in due course, and case studies will be shared at a later date.
As a committee, we would like to thank Egdon for this funding. These projects are outstanding and will be of real benefit to the community of Broughton. We are proud to be able to help to facilitate getting this funding into Broughton and cannot wait to see some of the opportunities our residents will have available as a result.
